Logarithmic corrections to O(a) lattice artifacts
We compute logarithmic corrections to the O(a2) lattice artifacts for a class of lattice actions for the non-linear O(n) sigma-model in two dimensions. The generic leading artifacts are of the form a2[ln(a2)](n/(n−2)). We also compute the next-to-leading corrections and show that for the case n = 3 the resulting expressions describe well the lattice artifacts in the step scaling function, which...
متن کاملTHE EXTREMELY LUMINOUS SUPERNOVA 2006gy AT LATE PHASE: DETECTION OF OPTICAL EMISSION FROM SUPERNOVA
Supernova (SN) 2006gy is an extremely luminous Type IIn SN characterized by the bright peak magnitude MR ∼ −22 mag and its long duration. The mechanism giving rise to its huge luminosity is still unclear. We performed optical spectroscopy and photometry of SN 2006gy at late time, ∼ 400 days after the explosion, with the Subaru/FOCAS in a good seeing condition. We carefully extracted the SN comp...
متن کاملScaling relations for logarithmic corrections.
Multiplicative logarithmic corrections to scaling are frequently encountered in the critical behavior of certain statistical-mechanical systems. Here, a Lee-Yang zero approach is used to systematically analyze the exponents of such logarithms and to propose scaling relations between them. These proposed relations are then confronted with a variety of results from the literature.
متن کاملFisher Renormalization for Logarithmic Corrections
For continuous phase transitions characterized by power-law divergences, Fisher renormalization prescribes how to obtain the critical exponents for a system under constraint from their ideal counterparts. In statistical mechanics, such ideal behaviour at phase transitions is frequently modified by multiplicative logarithmic corrections. Here, Fisher renormalization for the exponents of these lo...
متن کاملLogarithmic two-loop corrections to the Lamb shift in hydrogen
Higher order (α/π)2 (Z α)6 logarithmic corrections to the hydrogen Lamb shift are calculated. The results obtained show the two-loop contribution has a very peculiar behavior, and significantly alter the theoretical predictions for low lying S-states.
